Holidays for a Dog (1980) 6

Little Peter has to look after his mom's friend's dog, Blek, and the two spend the summer holidays in the countryside with his grandfather and grandmother. Peter is not only worried that the dog will be captured by the evil Mr. Plavec, but also by a group of local kids. The kids are initially hostile towards the young boy from Prague, but later join forces and try save Blek. The dog, meanwhile, escapes from the cage and disappears. Will Peter find Blek or will he have to give his mom's friend his own dog, Cézar, which his parents gave him as a reward for his marks?

Biography

A director and actress. She graduated from FAMU. She has worked for Czech TV on a number of educational programs for children. She co-directed the drama Jakub (1976) and independently made the comedies Holiday for a Dog (1980) and Eva, Get Married! (1983). In the USA, where she later emigrated, she has been mostly involved in pedagogical work.
