Thirteen-year-old Alexander is really in it. It seems that he and his good friend are to blame for the fire of the old shed. But it's not that simple. Alexander knows he was in the shed with his friend and secretly smoked there, but he also knows they put out the stubs. You know how it is. The story takes place in a small village at the foot of forested mountains in northern Iran, and follows the moving story of Asghar's family. He, his sister Roja, and grandmother take care of his sick father. He suffers from a disorder caused by gas during the Iraq war, and the siblings do everything to take care of him. The whole area suffers from a persistent rain that causes a flood and pulls down the bridge. The only route into town is closed and Asghar can't get a new oxygen tank. His grandmother tells of a legend that says if anyone finds forty bald men and hangs a list of their names on a tree, the rain will stop. The humorous search for bald guys is linked to the dramatic events of Asghar's life. This brave boy, as the temporary head of the family, must deal not only with a natural disaster, but also with problems with a classmate, an older sister's suitor, and a surprising family secret.

Little Peter has to look after his mom's friend's dog, Blek, and the two spend the summer holidays in the countryside with his grandfather and grandmother. Peter is not only worried that the dog will be captured by the evil Mr. Plavec, but also by a group of local kids. The kids are initially hostile towards the young boy from Prague, but later join forces and try save Blek. The dog, meanwhile, escapes from the cage and disappears. Will Peter find Blek or will he have to give his mom's friend his own dog, Cézar, which his parents gave him as a reward for his marks?
