Our festival president was honored at KINEKO festival in Tokyo
The Japanese Children's Festival is celebrating 30 years and our representatives couldn't miss it. On the opening evening, our festival president Čestmír Vančura received the Kineko Festival Honorary Award.
Playwright Jaroslava Hynštová became a juror for the umpteenth time, this time on the international jury for Japanese films. Kineko and Zlín have been long-standing partners, and its director Mitsuo Tahira goes to Zlín every year with a large delegation of colleagues and sponsors. As a gift, Mr. Vančura brought him the original painting by Zdeněk Miler with the legendary mole.
At the same time, the Czech Festival takes place in Tokyo, which was created in cooperation between the Czech Center in Tokyo and the Kineko festival. An entire Czech village was built around the river and its task was to promote not only Czech culture, but also some Czech products (Rudolf Jelínek, Pilsner Urquel, Moravian wines,...). The delegation from our festival met many representatives of the Czech Republic and enjoyed the opening jazz concert of the Emil Viklický Trio.
