Formanová had already planted the tree, Vodochodský had the premiere
The festival alley in the University Park has grown with a summer oak. The sixteenth tree in the order was planted there by this year's Young Stars - actors Antonie Formanová and Vojtěch Vodochodský. While Antonie already had experience with betting, it was the first time for Vojtěch. "I'll pretend I've done it before," replied Vodochodský with a smile.
Fortunately, both artists had capable assistants. The festival president Čestmír Vančura, the moderator Roman Vojtek and the mayor of Zlín Jiří Korec also took up the shovel. Everyone was cheered on by dozens of children in raincoats and rubber bands, including teenagers. And of course Večerníček and the comic duo Pat and Mat.
Antonie Formanová is considered a great hope of Czech cinematography. At the age of twenty-five, she is the bearer of the Czech Lion, which she won for her performance in the film Dukla 61. But you could also see her in Ballad of the Pilot or Occupation. "At the moment, I have completed the premiere of the fairy tale at the Minor Theater and the premiere at the Dejvický Theater," she said in an interview for this year's Young Stars festival, whose grandfather was none other than the famous director Miloš Forman.
It is the second time at the Zlín Film Festival. "I've been here before, but so briefly that I didn't even have time to go through Zlín properly. Hopefully I'll get lucky now," Formanová smiled. You can listen to her today at the Festival Café on Náměstí Míru, where Vladimír Kroc will invite her to the microphone from 4 p.m.
The successful young actor Vojtěch Vodochodský goes from role to role. "I really liked the Zlín Film Festival. I was here last year for the first time together with Honza Nedbal and Oskar Hes. And I thought that it would be nice if I came here as a "young star" too," admitted Vodochodský in an interview with a smile.
He has successfully collaborated with directors David Ondříček and Jan Hřebejk. You probably know him from Případ Roubal, the series Zlatá labuť, Král Šumava or the film Iveta, where he played one of the main roles - Petr Sepéši. A talent you'll be hearing about soon. Don't miss it tomorrow from 4 p.m. at the Festival Café on náměstí Míru.
