The opening ceremony of the 59th Zlín Film Festival will belong to Czech premieres. 

As the opening film of the festival, the organizers chose a new Czech feature film combining elements of animated, puppet and feature film called TvMiniUni: The Question Thief  by Janek Jirků. He will be presented at the World Premiere during the morning screening for children. In the evening opening for adult viewers, the Australian family film Storm Boy by Shawn Seet starring Geoffrey Rush will be presented in the Czech premiere. Both films are part of the international film competition for children.
