Zlín Film Festival has become the target of cyber attack
On Friday, May 17, one week before the opening of the 59th International Film Festival for Children and Youth, we experienced technical difficulties on the server of one of our suppliers shortly after the launch of ticket sales. Subsequently, cybernetics experts confirmed a sophisticated type of attack that was probably led against the Zlín Film Festival. We cannot exclude this because there has been an unsuccessful attempt to attack another system of our supplier.
We reported the matter to the Czech Police and filed a complaint against an unknown offender. Since then, cyber specialists have been taking all the necessary steps to ensure system operation and security and preventive protection for other service providers.
With regard to these facts, we temporarily suspended the reservation and sale of tickets, the publication of information about the Zlín Film Festival and accompanying program (on the web and in the festival application). Currently, there are measures in place to restore normal operation in time.
Nevertheless, we ask our visitors, guests, business partners and suppliers for a friendly approach and forgiveness.
We see the attack on the festival for children and youth as a manifestation of immoral behavior. We regularly deal with the prevention of the abuse of cybernetics in the world of children. We want to warn others of this dangers after this experience.
