ZFF WELCOMES COMPOSER ANDREA MORRICONE

A huge start at this year's Zlín Film Festival is Maestro Andrea Morricone, one of the greatest contemporary Italian composers and conductors, and the son of the phenomenal composer Ennio Morricone. Andrea Morricone composed the musical composition for the film 72 Hours in Bangkok, a film by Czech director and producer Lubomir Haltmar, which is having its world premiere screening on Monday, May 28at the festival.

The film deals with a lost two-year-old boy in Bangkok and points to the theme of lost children.

"In the case of this picture, it should be remembered that a two-year-old child still can not speak, so the music in the film should express the feelings and experiences of a child lost in Bangkok. This was the main goal for me while composing the music - to express the child's emotions through music. I wrote the soundtrack for nearly half a year together with the director and producer Lubomír Haltmare, which was amazing. Working together with Lubomir was a great experience for both of us; it was a teamwork that required emotional and professional engagement,"

commented Italian composer Andrea Moriicone on the collaboration itself. The screening, which will take place at the Congress Center in Zlín on Monday, May 28 at 7 p.m., will be preceded by Andrea Morricone's concert performance, and aside from the compositions from the film you will also be able to listen to his father's film scores and their joint composition they made for the film Cinema Paradiso.
