ECFA Award 2016

ECFA AWARD 2016 for the Best European Children´s Film goes to The Golden Slipper 2015 awardee BIRDS OF PASSAGE

In 2015 ECFA (European Children’s Film Association) organized the fifth edition of the ECFA Award, the election of the Best European Children’s Film of the year. Throughout the year 11 different children’s film festivals (from Montreal via Zlín to Olympia) have hosted an ECFA Award jury, adding one title to ECFA’s shortlist. The 9 shortlisted films competed for the final ECFA Award: the Best European Children’s Film 2015.

More than 100 members of ECFA, all of them active in the children’s film industry, were invited to cast their vote.

The votes from the member organizations already cut the shortlist down to 4 titles.
The final nominees were:
- Birds of Passage (Les Oiseaux de Passage) , directed by Olivier Ringer from Belgium
- Song of the Sea, directed by Tomm Moore from Ireland/Belgium
- Life according to Nino, directed by Simone van Dusseldorp from The Netherlands
- Enclave, directed by Goran Radovanovic from Serbia/Gemany
