Clapperboard Exhibition is Here!
The opening in Mlada Boleslav will kick off a series of exhibitions.
The 17 previous series of exhibitions showcasing the artistically rendered clapperboards have proved to be a true gem of ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL's supporting program. Throughout the years a total of 1,927 of these clapperboards have been auctioned off and the proceeds have been used to fund the creation of 214 audiovisual student works. The 55th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín will not be an exception. This year the MINISALON - Film Clapperboards will include a total of 119 artists; 14 of them for the very first time.
On Tuesday, March 17, 2015 the opening of the film clapperboard exhibition will be held at 6 p.m. at the ŠKODA Museum in Mlada Boleslav. The Czech actor Roman Vojtek will be hosting this special event. The exhibition will present nearly 80 works from the new collection being prepared for the 55th ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL. Among the artists whose clapperboards you will be able to see are Jan Saudek, Olbram Zoubek, Marie Axamitova, Michal Halva, Karel Kalina, Jaroslav Němeček and Kateřina Lovis Miler. The clapperboard collection will not yet be complete because some of the artists are still completing their works and they will be on display at later exhibitions.
The film clapperboard exhibition in Mlada Boleslav will be open to the public from March 18 to April 12, 2015. Later exhibitions will take place in Prague from April 15 to May 4, 2015, and in Zlín from May 6 to May 26, 2015. The public auction of the clapperboards will be held on Sunday May 31, 2015 at 1 p.m. within the Large Hall of the Zlín Congress Centre. The proceeds of the auction will be distributed among students of Czech and Slovak film schools and to their winning publicly presented projects.
The clapperboards can also be viewed from March 19 to April 2, 2015 within the Arkady Pankrac shopping center in Prague. This will be a separate exhibition, during which the public will be able to see special panels displaying retrospectives of the clapperboards from previous ZLÍN FILM FESTIVALs as well as a presentation of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth itself. This exhibition will be open to the public in Zlín as well right after the auction of clapperboards is concluded from May 31 to June 4, 2015.
