AN HISTORIC EVENT - THE FESTIVAL DATES HAVE BEEN CHANGED
The 54th Zlín Film Festival will take place from Friday May 30 to Thursday June 5, 2014 in Zlín and other cities in the Czech Republic . This is the first time in the modern history of ZFF that the main festival days will be on Saturday and Sunday.
CEREMONIES
The opening ceremonies of the 54th ZFF 2014 will be held on Friday May 30. The ceremonial opening for children will take place at its traditional time at 10 a.m. and the ceremonial opening for adults will be at 8 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place in Zlín's tabernacle of film – Bata's Grand Cinema (Velké Kino) on the square Náměstí Práce.
The first official business of the festival with regard to the general public, however, will be the opening press conference – also taking place on Friday May 30, though at 9 a.m. in the Small Hall of the Zlín Congress Centre.
The closing ceremony – the "Gala Evening" is planned for Wednesday June 4. As usual it will be broadcast on Czech TV. It will be broadcast LIVE on Czech TV2! Roman Vojtek will be the MC!
OPENING FILMS
The opening film of ZFF for mature audiences (evening ceremony) will be the Polish film "Being Like Deyna". The director Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz will be there, as well as the main actors Gabriela Muska and Marcin Korcz.

The DAYS OF POLISH CINEMA WILL OFFER NEARLY 50 POLISH FILMS
Films for children and youth, the new Polish films and a selection of Polish films throughout the history of the single category Days of Polish Cinema, the most eminent of the informative section. Audiences will see films by Andrzej Wajdy, Agnieszky Krzysztof Kieślowski and Andrzej Munk. New Polish cinema will be represented by, e.g. Marcin Wrona and Jacek Borcuch.
OTHER PERSONALITIES FOR THE DAYS OF POLISH CINEMA
Those who have promised to take part include the actor Olaf Lubaszenko (Sekal Has To Die), the priest Zbigniew Czendlik, and singer Ewa Farna.
NEW ITEMS IN THE PROGRAM
A new section called Distant Childhoods gets its launch at the 54th ZFF and is dedicated to children from faraway places. The first representatives for this historical first are India, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

AWARDS
Recognition for Artistic Contribution to Film Productions for Children and Youth for 2014 will be given by ZFF to the music composer for popular and film music Mr. Jaroslav Uhlíř.
NEW ITEM – As of this year's 54th ZFF, the International Expert Jury for Feature Film will award The City of Zlín Award for best performance by a child actor in the category of feature film for children and the Miloš Macourek Award for best performance by a young actor in the category of feature film for youth.
Walk of Fame of Child Movie Stars. The long-term partner of ZFF in the area of charitable projects – The Drop of Hope Endowment Fund will unveil Magda Reifová and Michal Suchánek on the Walk of Fame at the 54th ZFF 2014, specifically on Tuesday, June 3. ZFF will present the Grand Prix for lifetime contribution to animated film to Mr. Tadeusz Wilkosz.

ACCESS TO THE INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS
The ZFF film program includes film screenings in international competitions, of which Zlín Dog is a part of, as well as screenings of films in the informative sections. Morning screenings are free of charge. For the rest of the screenings visitors will need to get either a Film Pass or a ticket for CZK40 (children up to 6 years of age are free of charge). Accredited guests go to all films free of charge.
The professional program consists of freely accessible lectures and seminars of the film-industry program for students and film professionals, as well as of the events of the Rainbow Marble project, which is devoted to film marketing.
The supporting program includes concerts, workshops, interactive programs for children, and exhibitions.
THE SUPPORTING PROGRAM IS ALREADY IN PROGRESS
The most significant of ZFF's supporting events, Minisalon - Film Clapperboards and the Cinema-train, start many days before the festival itself: The Minisalon has been up and running since March 12, 2014 and the Cinema-train this year will set off on May 15, 2014 from Mladá Boleslav.
THE COMPETITIVE FILM PROGRAM IS ALREAD IN PROGRESS
As of April 15, 2014, you can go to www.zlinfest.cz and vote in the competition for best student in a trailer as part of the Zlin Dog international student competition section! 21 trailers! Among other places, they are from Norway, Pakistan, Taiwan, and the Virgin Islands.

The traditional main pre-festival press conference with an introduction of the definitive program will take place on May 20 in Prague at the Polish Institute (Malé náměstí), The Zlín pre-festival press conference will take place on Monday, May 19, in the Small Hall of the Zlín Congress Centre.
The opening press conference of the 54th ZFF 2014 will be held on Friday May 30, 2014 at 9 a.m. in the Small Hall of the Zlín Congress Centre.
The final press conference of this year's festival will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. also in the Small Hall of the Zlín Congress Centre.
