As part of the Danish film showcase at Zlín Film Festival a unique combination of Danish animation and main feature films will be introduced. Before every film from the wide ranging project of Danish Cinematography Days there will be a short projection of student animation from the Danish ''The Animation Workshop''. This workshop, which employs film professionals, is a centre of animation creation which is sought after by students and animation enthusiasts from around the globe. The renowned Canadian Richard Williams, director of the Oscar winning 1971 Dickens's Christmas Carol adaptation, regards this place as one of the most important animation institution in the world. Original small artistic animation pieces annually take part in the Zlín competition and this year will not be different. Furthermore, they will also be represented in the renewed international competition of student film - Zlín Dog, where a representative of The Animation Workshop will take a seat on the judging panel. The animations will not only be projected before the main film features but also in the tent under the screen of the summer cinema on the Open Air Site.
