A unique coming-of-age story filmed over the course of five years of life of Moroccan girl Jamila (from 9 to 14 years of age) who lives in a port city in southern Italy. Rebellious, feisty and street-smart, Jamila has a lot of potential. However, she has to deal with a difficult life. Her mother loses her job and Jamila drops out from middle school.
