Cutting School for Cinema 2022 / International conference on film and audiovisual education
Sun 29.05 | 09:00, Congress Centre
The seventh year of the Cinema Behind the School conference will focus on a pressing topic: the availability of films in schools and for educational needs. Films offered for distribution and available through projects, e.g. CineEd and Zlín Fest Screen, are legal, though there is still a lack of a variety on offer, especially of Czech films, which could be screened without restrictions. What role should the state play in the entirety of the process? How does one work with archive films? How do the National Film Archive and the State Cinema Fund view the situation? What kind of films and film trailers would teachers themselves like to use? Film education cannot be done without films. The programme will include an introduction to an online platform which is to be part of a planned textbook on film and audiovisual education for primary schools. As part of the conference opening, the will be a presentation of an analysis of the results of a sociological survey carried out at Czech primary and grammar schools presented by a research team led by Tereza Czesany Dvořáková.
