Macondo (2014)
Macondo is a refugee settlement in Vienna with about 3,000 asylum-seekers from 22 different countries. One of them is 11-year-old Ramasan who has come here from Chechnya with his mother and two younger sisters. Fatherless, he tries his best to take his father’s place looking after his family. But then a brooding man named Isa, a friend of Ramasan’s father from the old days, suddenly arrives and Ramasan's life is thrown into disarray.

Biography
A scriptwriter and director of Iranian origin. She studied film and theater studies at the University of Vienna and at the University of California, USA with a course focusing on film, TV and digital media. She's made several short films and feature documentaries. Her live-acted film debut was the drama Macondo (2014).
