Best Friend (2017)
As punishment for stealing poor Ondra’s bread, the devil Matthew must fulfill all of Ondra wish's until he is totally happy. Matthew makes friends with Ondra and takes a liking to Earth. It gets complicated when Ondra falls in love with Rézinka, the countess from the castle. An intriguing baron is invited by her father to court her and Ondra rashly promises her father that by the next morning he will have built a brand new castle for Rézinka to prove he is better than the baron. This is a difficult task for a devil like Matthew – impossible even. But Ondra insists...

Biography
Karel Janák (1970) A film and TV director. He graduated from ČVUT and FAMU. He debuted with the TV film Aliens in Colorado (Vetřelci v Coloradu, 2002). He found success with the teen film trilogy Snowboarders (Snowboarďáci, 2004), Rafters (Rafťáci, 2006) and The Ro©k Con Artists (Ro(c)k podvraťáků, 2006). Other works include, e.g. Little Knights's Tale (Ať žijí rytíři!, 2009), Extraterrestrial (Mimozemšťan, 2012) and Best Friend (Nejlepší přítel, 2017).
