Left along during summer vacation in the late 1980s, Chen Xiaojin kills time by inventing all kinds of fun and play by himself. While wandering on the streets in the little town, he makes friends with another only child, Xu Bin. When the two hang out by river, Chen almost drowns, which results in severe punishment. The summer vacation never seems to end.

Biography
A filmmaker from China. He graduated from Fudan University and worked at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, and later began writing scripts for films and series. He made his debut with a full-length children's drama Hello, Vacation! (暑期何漫漫, 2021).
