Fifteen-year-old Charlie, an endearing and naive outsider, is coping with first love, the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs. The introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and Patrick, who welcome him to the real world.

Biography

An American screenwriter, director and writer. He studied screenwriting at the University of Southern California. His film works include the adaptation of his own book, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the family drama (Wonder, 2017). He also co-directed the TV series Jericho (2006–2008).
