Biography
A pioneer of Czech stop animation and film tricks. His interest in puppet films brought him to Zlín, where he made a number of successful works, e.g. Journey to the Beginning of Time (1955), The Fabulous Baron Munchausen (1961), Krabat — The Sorcerer's Apprentice (1977), and The Tale of John and Mary (1980).
