Jewish parents send their son to a relative in the countryside somewhere in Eastern Europe to protect their child from the holocaust. Biography
He studied production at FAMU. He worked in TV and in short films, and later led the Barrandov Film Studio. In 1997, he founded his own company, Silver Screen. Based on his own screenplays, he made the feature films Smart Philip (Mazaný Filip, 2003), Tobruk (2008) and The Painted Chick (Nabarvené ptáče, 2019).
