The grim reality of the current US immigration system through the eyes of Oscar, a 12-year-old schoolboy from Honduras, whose unwanted ties to a brutal gang have prompted his parents to smuggle him out of the country in the hope that he will escape to America and lead a better life under the protection of his uncle Manuel, a recent immigrant. However, Oscar is caught in the Arizona desert by border police and sent to a juvenile immigration center, where he tries regain control of his life inside a "wire box" and reach his dream destination.

Biography

Screenwriter and director of Swedish origin. He made the short films Reverb (2010), Quality Time (2014) and Icebox (2016). The last one he developed into his feature-length debut of the same name (2018).
