Suzan is spending the summer holidays with her grandmother while her mother goes to Syria as a war reporter. She forms a close friendship with Rana, a little Syrian girl, who lives in the nearby refugee camp. However, one night, Suzan receives some terrible news. Her mother has gone missing in a war zone. Now, only Rana can help her as she shares her experiences of escaping alone from Syria and surviving without any parents.

Dutch screenwriter, director and actress with an original focus on theater. She acted in TV series and movies, later focusing on filmmaking, e.g. short films and the feature romance Street of Hearts (Hartenstraat, 2014) and Brasserie Valentine (Brasserie Valentijn, 2016).
