It is our pleasure to show an animated series My Country Ukraine at 62nd Zlín Film festival. We invite to see it not only Ukrainian families and children living in the Czech Republic. The series "My Country – Ukraine" made by the Kyiv animation studio "Novatorfilm" tells about the adventures of the cat Vorkot, who, together with his friend Sashko Lirnyk, travels to different cities of Ukraine in search of interesting historical places and thus teaches the viewers the history of our state. Every episode is full of warmth and patriotism. In total, 26 episodes about different cities of Ukraine have been shot, in particular: Berdyansk, Odesa, Melitopol, Luhansk, villages of Shushery, Lehedzine and others. Zlín Film Festival presents selected 12 episodes in Ukrainian only.
Princess Helena and Prince Wenceslas were betrothed by their royal fathers The two don't know each other and don't want to get married. But when they accidentally meet each other while disguised, they fall in love – not knowing who each other really is! Helena wants her father to marry her to this “beloved young man” and begins playing the sad princess to move him. When the kings’ advisers learn of this “affair”, they start a war between the two kingdoms. Can common sense win out?
Music composer Zdeněk Liška’s name is tied to dozens of titles of Czechoslovak cinematography from the 1960s on. His unmistakable writing was appreciated by film directors and they respected him as a co-author of their work. When composing for a symphonic orchestra, a brass band, stringed instruments, or piano, he used various instruments, as well as electronics, and sound effects. A portrait of the ingeniously diverse Liška responding to the current rising international interest in him.
A documentary about the Velvet Revolution in Zlín told through its participants and interspersed with unique found historical footage.
