Score:
An observational story about how a particular person can dramatically change the lives of a typical teenager – and how such an adult can also change under the influence of his pupils. This is a film about transformation, discovering passion, and forever having a positive impact on a child's approach to learning and life... All the protagonists have been observed for three years through the ages 12-15, at the most important moment in their development. And in so many ways their development has been atypical. During their very first lesson they heard that they should throw away their textbooks. Then it got even stranger, with 12-year-olds from a small Polish town attempting to build satellite sail test models, inspired by a group of professional engineers...

There is no basketball court in the school, so Weiqiang Du chooses rope skipping, a low-cost sport. To attract pupils to sign for joining, Weiqiang Du tells students that “anyone who joins the rope skipping team will be given a new team uniform and shoes.” Two brothers named Jiang Hai and Jiang He thus join the team. However, they are “punished” by senior team members, including Xiaoqin Fang and Yuxiang Ren. Unable to endure the hard training, these two brothers want to exit from the team repeatedly. But when a volunteer teacher named Yuxin Feng joins the rope skipping team, bringing in new concepts and techniques, things change for the better. Eventually, the rope skipping team makes leapfrog development. Now all of the team members insist on practicing for the World Rope Skipping Championship. BIOGRAPHY A creative tandem from China. Together they have made many film and video projects that have been awarded, e.g. I Will Dance and Happness Comes from Hard Work (2018). The children's film Starry Road (点点 星光, 2019) is their latest film.
