After a summer away at camp, Phil returns home to find that his mother and twin sister aren’t speaking to one another. Avoiding family conflict, Phil escapes to hang out with his best friend, Kat, eating ice cream and playing dress-up. As the school year begins, a new student arrives – the handsome and mysterious Nicholas. Smitten, Phil watches him as he runs around the track after school, and is thrilled when Nicholas returns his feelings. But he’s going to first have to deal with the problems of his past in order to deal with the issues of his present.

Arash lives with his family in a village near a green forest. One night, he decides to go horseback riding and without his parent's permission. He takes a mare which has been held in their trust, but they both fall. The next morning, the mare dies after giving birth to a foal and he loses his sight due to the fall. He dreams about seeing Teezpa (the foal). His Parents try to find a way to cure his blindness. Then one day he meets the real owner of the dead mare and tells the true story of that night. By talking to him, Arash finds a truth beyond his dreams.

Eight-year-old Eda Souček's family is forced under the Protectorate to move from Prague to the countryside. The little town where he'd previously only spent the holidays is now his home. The young city family must adapt to the new environment and coexist under one roof with relatives – including a strict grandfather. Eda has a difficult task: to find and defend his place within a local group of boys whose world is totally different from his urban one. He searches for both courage and to uncover a mysterious family secret that slowly comes to light.
