Every Czech Reads to Kids

The mission of the non-profit organization Every Czech Reads to Kids© is to build strong family ties through reading together.  Regularly reading to children plays a huge role in the development of their emotional health. Reading develops memory and imagination, and teaches thinking.  Reading molds a strong bond between parent and child. All it takes is 20 minutes a day. Every day.

A Week of Reading to Children in the Czech Republic

The goal of A WEEK OF READING TO CHILDREN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC is to motivate children, youth and adults to continually read and to develop a love of literature through a selection of good and valuable literature.

Through A WEEK OF READING TO CHILDREN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC we want to show the general public that daily reading for pleasure is the most effective method of raising readers – independently thinking people with extensive knowledge who are capable of widening that knowledge on their own. People of culture who proceed ethically. People with imagination who can handle things in life through reason, not by force.

The 5th WEEK OF READING TO CHILDREN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC will take place June 1-7, 2015 in towns and villages throughout the Czech Republic. Schools, kindergartens, libraries, parent and cultural centers, cafes, municipalities, and other organizations are preparing dozens of cultural, artistic and literary events to support the spread of the importance of reading to children.

The opening ceremony of the 5th WEEK OF READING TO CHILDREN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC will take place May 5, 2015 at 5 p.m. at Zlín's 204 club. During the 55th ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL children from local schools can look forward to reading from Monday, June 1 to Thursday, June 4 in the František Bartoš Library daily at 9 a.m. and at 11 a.m..

We look forward to meeting with you!
